This traditionally French, boldly American ale from The Saint Louis Brewery™ can be purchased in bottled six-packs or on draft and in growlers at Schlafly Bottleworks and Tap Room
(ST. LOUIS; Feb. 22, 2016)—Combining American assertiveness and French sensibility, Schlafly Beer announces the limited special release of Farmhouse IPA this month as part of the seasonally rotating IPA Series. The St. Louis-based brewery creates this beer by combining American hops with a French yeast strain for a refreshing take on an IPA that clocks in at 7.2% ABV and 35 IBUs.
Highlighting the slightly spicy flavor imparted by the French saison yeast strain and the boldness from dry-hopping with some of the U.S.’s most notable hops, this innovative beer offers complexity and intrigue on the palate and nose. Mosaic hops deliver aromas of fruit, herbs, and pine, accented by bright floral and citrus notes of Centennial, which is also used for bittering.
Schlafly introduced the first variation of this beer as a dry-hopped farmhouse ale on draft only at its Bottleworks and Tap Room locations in 2015. Hale explains that version went over so well, Schlafly decided to enhance the recipe by adding a little extra “hop punch” and then made it a part of its special-release IPA Series, which also includes Tasmanian IPA and American IPA.
Schlafly Farmhouse IPA can be purchased on draft or in six-packs of bottles at the Bottleworks or Tap Room locations. The six-packs ($8.99 suggested retail) are also available across the brewery’s entire distribution region.
