Beer Bracket Elite 8 and Round 2 Results

After a crazy first round of voting, our readers stepped up with even more online votes and hashtag check-ins through the #beerupbracket hashtag on Twitter.  Round two of our Beer Up Bracket featured more blow outs and a few NCAA March Madness Cinderella stories.  This contest not only allows  voters the chance to cast a vote for their favorite brewery, but also stuff the ballots by sipping on your favorite brewers to register votes.  This round also saw the addition of www.beercrafty.net to our guest panel as they participated in the voting and added their live feed to our streaming tournament action.

 First Round Results - #Beerupbracket

West Bracket

• Number 1 seed New Belgium trounced Anchor Brewing Collecting  73% of the votes
• ​Number 2 Lagunitas narrowly edged out San Diego's Ballast point with 56% of the votes​​

Midwest Bracket

• Number 1 seed  Yuengling went down to Founders, who collected 75% of the votes
• ​Fellow Michigan brewer Bell's collected 68% of the votes over Firestone Walker to advance to battle Founders for the battle of Michigan heavyweights

Northeast Bracket

• 8 seed Southern Tier continued it's Cinderella status upsetting might Harpoon with over 84% of voting.
  
• In a close contest Victory Brewing edged Brooklyn Brewery with 57% of the vote to advance to the next round
  

South Bracket

• In a huge upset, our voters chose Dogfish Head over mighty Sierra Nevada in 67% of votes.
  
• 7 seed Oskar Blues continues it's rise to the title by beating veteran brewer Stone Brewing with 56.4% of votes
