ESCONDIDO, CA (July 28, 2016) – Nearly seven years in the making, American craft beer has made a milestone leap into Europe’s time-honored beer culture. Stone Brewing has announced that its Berlin, Germany brewery is now fully operational and the company is now distributing its beers to 17 countries throughout Europe. This milestone further solidifies the brewery’s historic accomplishment of becoming the first U.S. craft brewery to independently build, own and operate a brewery in Europe.
Newport, OR – Rogue Ales & Spirits announces the release of 2016 Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout, its first-ever beer aged in barrels made at Rogue’s cooperage. Brewed with ingredients grown at Rogue Farms and ocean aged in whiskey-soaked handmade barrels, Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout is the end of a long journey from ground to glass and barrel to bottle.
“Talk about a labor of love,” said Rogue President Brett Joyce. “Trying to figure out how to make our own barrels by hand, then making a beer aged in these barrels matured with our own whiskey is the kind of stuff we love to do. It’s not very efficient or economical as a brewery to also distill and cooper, but we couldn’t resist the challenge to see what we could do to bring together our beers, spirits and barrels.”
The St. Louis Brewery™ rolls out single-malt, single-hop beers showcasing four distinct hops in the same beer base
Schlafly Beer introduces the Hop Trial SMaSH Pack, an experimental new variety pack featuring four distinct hops, to launch today. This box offers beers featuring four different experimental hop varieties across the flavor spectrum with three bottles of each: Hallertau Blanc (floral), Bramling Cross (spicy), Enigma (fruity), and Eureka! (piney).
The Hop Trial pack features four SMaSH (single malt and single hop) beers, which bring out the individual qualities of each ingredient, making the profile of the featured hop variety the true focus. For the first installment of the Hop Trial pack, the Schlafly team utilized well-known, established hops to introduce the concept of how to isolate a single varietal to the everyday beer consumer. In years to come, the team may explore more experimental hops from the brewery’s Hop Trial program
